A cord with weights on both ends — like double-ended poi. Swung in wide arcs with wraps around the body and neck.

Meteor comes from Chinese circus traditions. The dual weights create symmetric patterns and allow for dramatic body wraps.

Getting started

Start with a practice meteor (soft weights). The basic figure-8 and body orbit are your first moves. Be careful with neck wraps — start slow.

DIY — Make your own meteor

Practice meteor (15 min, ~5 EUR)

Materials: rope or cord (2-2.5m), 2 tennis balls or soft weights (~100g each), tape

  1. Poke holes through each tennis ball
  2. Thread the rope through, one ball at each end
  3. Tie stopper knots so the balls can't slip off
  4. The grip point is the center of the rope

Tip: start with lighter weights — meteor wraps around your body and neck.
