A center stick batted between two handsticks. The flower stick variant has weighted ends that slow the motion, making it beginner-friendly.
Tricks range from simple ticks to propellers, helicopters, and body catches. One of the easiest props to pick up.
Getting started
A flower stick is the gentlest introduction. Learn the basic tick-tock, then try the helicopter and behind-the-back catches.
DIY — Make your own devil stick
Flower stick (20 min, ~5 EUR)
Materials: 1 wooden dowel (60cm, 20mm — center stick), 2 thinner dowels (45cm, 12mm — handsticks), rubber end caps or silicone tape, grip tape
- Center stick: wrap both ends (10cm) with silicone tape or attach rubber caps
- Wrap the middle with grip tape for visibility
- Handsticks: wrap each with grip tape or tennis racket tape
- Done! The rubber ends slow movement, making it a forgiving flower stick
For a devil stick (faster): skip the rubber caps, use bare dowels with grip tape.
