Hyperloops

Technique

A hyperloop is an extended tangle where the wrapped poi transitions through a plane change — typically from one side of the body through the buzzsaw (wheel plane) to the other side — before untangling.

How it works

  1. Start with split-time same-direction spinning on one side
  2. The tethers wrap together (entering the tangle)
  3. Instead of untangling on the same side, bring the tangled nexus through the buzzsaw plane
  4. The poi pass through the body's center plane to the opposite side
  5. They naturally untangle on the other side

The poi heads speed up as the tethers shorten during the wrap, creating a brief burst of fast spinning — the visual signature of a hyperloop.

Prerequisites

Air wraps, split-time same-direction spinning, buzzsaw plane familiarity, understanding of tangle mechanics.

Applies to

Poi exclusively.
